Before Lawton had enough time to blink Hackett was already up 11-0 halfway through the first quarter. Lawton had to call a timeout to regroup and try to stop the momentum after a big slam from Lukas Husovsky. Offensively Lawton couldn't get anything going, from blocked shots to turnovers. Defensively they showed promise as they were able to force some turnovers. Lawton found themselves in a hole to end the first quarter 18-6. Just a minute into the second quarter Eli Brooks for Hackett came out of the game with an apparent injury but returned to the game later in the quarter. Lawton was the first to put points on the board in the second, but Hackett quickly attacked the basket to draw a foul ending in a pair of free throws. It became the Eli Brooks show Quickly dropping 7 points in under two and a half minutes. Heading into half the Irish were up big 42-13 with Jr Lucas Cosby hitting a 3 to add insult to injury.

Lawton started off the 2nd half going on a run, but Hackett quickly got the momentum back going on a small 6-0 run. Bad news for the Irish though as Star Eli Brooks left the game with an apparent lower body injury. Every time Lawton tried to get something going Hackett quickly got the crowd back on their side.
