Hackett came out hot, opening the game on a 7–0 run fueled by strong shooting from beyond the arc. Schoolcraft answered back, battling through the first quarter and into an up-and-down second. It looked like Schoolcraft might take control, but Leland Berg delivered in the clutch—knocking down a three and following it with a fadeaway two in the final 10 seconds to tie the game at 36–36 heading into halftime.

The second half opened with a shooting clinic from both teams, as threes continued to rain down. At least seven different players connected from deep in the opening minutes of the third quarter. Hackett built momentum and carried a 59–50 lead into the final stretch. The fourth quarter turned into a defensive battle, with both teams attacking the basket and crashing the boards. Hackett shifted gears, slowing the pace and showing patience on offense—swinging the ball around the perimeter until they found the perfect look. They added pressure with a full-court press, but Jimmy Miller refused to back down, repeatedly taking the ball to the rim to keep it a five-point game with three minutes remaining. In the end, it wasn’t enough, as Hackett closed it out with a 69–63 victory.
