SCHOOLCRAFT, MI - A quick Google search of the history of these two schools playing will show you that Schoolcraft has had the upper hand, and Friday night was no different.

The Eagles worked their way down the field and scored on the opening drive. After an interception by Lucas Noora, the Eagles found themselves in the end zone again early in the first quarter, but Patrick Armock and crew weren’t going to go quietly. They battled back and ran in a touchdown to get the Rams on the board.

After that opening quarter, the Eagles started to pour it on, led by senior quarterback Jack DeVries. He rushed in for a touchdown or two and had a beautiful touchdown pass to Langston Richardson. This pass was Richardson’s first catch since Week 1. He suffered an injury that kept him out all year.

Even though the Rams were in quite a hole, they kept moving the ball and even found the end zone a few times. Ultimately, it wasn’t enough, and the Eagles move on to play North Muskegon.

    Play of the Game:

A forced fumble during a sack by Darien Jacobs led to Saxton Abfall recovering the ball and scoring a defensive touchdown.

    Player of the Game:

Jack DeVries, normally known for his accurate throws downfield, rushed for 118 yards in the first half.

    Thoughts from Behind the Lens:

This game felt like a game of big plays, and Schoolcraft simply had too many playmakers for the Rams to control on both sides of the ball. However, Galesburg-Augusta fought hard on every play, and that’s something they should be proud of!
