The Grand Rapids Northview Wildcats and Grandville Bulldogs battled in a regional semifinal that started slow but finished with serious drama. The first half was a steady back and forth with neither team able to create much separation. That changed in the third quarter when Carter Wade caught fire. He knocked down two huge three pointers to pull Grandville within two with two minutes to go in the quarter and completely shift the energy in the gym. Northview responded and stretched the lead back to seven with three minutes to play in the fourth, but Grandville refused to go away. After drawing a blocking foul at the rim, the Bulldogs hit both free throws to cut into the deficit. Moments later, Randall finished a layup to make it 50-47 with 1:25 remaining.

Then things got wild.
A Northview turnover led to an and one bucket for Grandville, trimming it to 50-49 with about a minute left. After Northview split a trip at the line, Grandville attacked again and calmly knocked down two free throws to tie the game at 51 with 52 seconds remaining. A corner three at the buzzer missed, sending the regional semifinal into overtime. In the extra period, Northview took control. The Wildcats built a 58-53 lead early and continued to execute down the stretch, pushing the margin to 63-58. A late blocked three sealed it, and Northview finished at the line to secure the 65-58 win and punch its ticket to the regional final. Northview will face East Kentwood Thursday night in the regional final. East Kentwood beat West Ottawa tonight 79-55 https://www.thebigmadonski.com/post/falcons-fly-past-panthers-roll-to-79-55-regional-win?fbclid=IwY2xjawQUhv1leHRuA2FlbQIxMABicmlkETF6YzBwa29VUEhBYjBQOGY5c3J0YwZhcHBfaWQQMjIyMDM5MTc4ODIwMDg5MgABHiQbvA6MjsgPpA3AOLL34_361Tyxk1Iiv_igcanum1wFCysMhp0qEl7IKszk_aem_rbCg4mfPT06BoVrXs0o-ig Scoring Leaders
