Edwardsburg came out fast and quickly jumped out to a 10–3 lead midway through the first quarter, forcing Paw Paw head coach Arron Beery to call a timeout to calm his team. During that run, Michael Wright and Reed Gates both scored four points for the Eddies. Paw Paw clawed their way back after the timeout, but it wasn’t enough to take the lead, ending the first quarter still down 14–9.

In the second quarter, things got a little chippy as Paw Paw looked for a spark to get its offense going. Not many shots were falling, but they headed into halftime down just three.
In the third, offensive struggles were apparent, as both teams turned the ball over and missed shots. A combined 18 points were scored in the entire quarter. The fourth quarter was much more interesting. Just a few minutes in, senior guard Truman Brennan eclipsed 1,000 career points on an and-one. With one minute left, Paw Paw attempted to dribble out the clock but turned the ball over. After a foul, sophomore guard Niko Georgeoff hit two clutch free throws to tie the game at 42–42, sending it to overtime.
Truman Brennan and Liam Georgeoff were the main scorers in overtime, but something had to give. As time expired, junior Chase Boff blocked a potential game-winning three-point attempt for the Eddies.

Paw Paw escapes in an overtime thriller, 51–49.
Truman Brennan led Paw Paw with 27 points
