MT. PLEASANT, MI - For the first time in known history, high school football featured a California vs. Michigan matchup as St. Bernard's from Eureka, California, took on Mt. Pleasant Sacred Heart Academy.

Despite traveling over 2,000 miles to Michigan, the Crusaders showed no signs of jet lag, rolling past the Irish 46–0 in a Thursday night non-conference contest.
St. Bernard's opened the scoring with a touchdown pass from Trenton Hagler to Garrett Shanahan.

From there, the Crusaders dominated with a relentless ground-and-pound attack, combined with a few trick plays up their sleeves. Mount Pleasant struggled to find a rhythm on offense, leading to the 46–0 final, though the Sacred Heart defense fought hard throughout the game despite what the scoreboard reflected.
