Schoolcraft vs. Hackett was another Friday night thriller. Schoolcraft came out hot on both sides of the ball, opening the game with a 17–0 run. Jimmy Miller couldn’t be stopped under the basket, helping push the team to a 21–8 first-quarter lead. Hackett eventually settled down and found its offensive rhythm. They also locked in on defense, holding Schoolcraft to just seven points in the second quarter. They found themselves down only eight points at halftime.

Throughout the third quarter, momentum swung back and forth between the two teams. Hackett entered the final quarter with a 44–40 lead over the Eagles. However, Ty Goddard wasn’t ready to call it a night. He scored 12 of his 21 points in the fourth, helping keep it a one-possession game in the final seconds. During those final moments, a foul was called on Hackett, drawing an emotional response that ultimately resulted in a technical foul on Schoolcraft. Both teams knocked down high-pressure free throws despite the loud crowd noise. Hackett had one last opportunity, but they weren’t able to get a shot to go down.
Schoolcraft held on for a 62–61 victory.

After the game, Schoolcraft coach Derek Small said he was proud of the way his team battled and played together, especially considering they’ve only had a handful of practices as a full unit. Looking ahead to next week, his focus is on cleaning up the little things, with extra emphasis on boxing out.
