Both teams relied heavily on zone defense early, forcing the opposition to shoot from the outside. Those shots weren’t falling for either side at first. Nouvel capitalized by creating turnovers, turning several steals into fast-break points. That momentum helped Nouvel build a commanding 35–14 lead by halftime. Strong contributions from the bench continued in the second half as Nouvel cruised to a 71–36 victory.

Play of the Game (presented by Pit Training League): With one minute left in the second quarter, RJ Kelly delivered a sharp pass inside to Owen Vance, who quickly dumped it down to Jason Jimenez for an easy layup, beating a tough Frankfort zone defense.

Player of the Game: Nouvel’s RJ Kelly earned Player of the Game honors. One of the best athletes on the floor, Kelly made his impact felt on both ends of the court. He was a strong defender and deadly around the rim, finishing with 21 points.
Carpenter Action Shots – Thoughts from Behind the Camera: Both teams weren’t afraid to play physical. The intensity felt like a mid-February Big Ten matchup.
