Kalamazoo Central played to its strengths on offense and deployed a fast-paced, high-trapping zone defense that kept Jackson from ever finding an offensive rhythm. That defensive pressure helped the Giants jump out to a 19–10 lead at the end of the first quarter.
Jackson was able to generate a bit more offense in the second quarter, but Kalamazoo Central continued to control the tempo throughout the eight-minute stretch. The Giants went into halftime firmly in command, leading 39–27.

The third quarter proved decisive. The Giants locked down defensively and caught fire from beyond the arc, knocking down multiple three-pointers—including one from KC’s No. 2 Taveon Vaughn at the buzzer to close out the quarter. By the end of the third, Kalamazoo Central had extended its lead to 65–35. The advantage held steady through the fourth quarter, as the Giants maintained control on both ends of the floor to secure a 70–53 victory.
