Both teams came ready to compete from the opening tip, setting the tone for a physical and fast-paced first quarter. Ovid-Elsie matched Schoolcraft possession for possession early, but the Eagles found just enough offense to take a slim 17–14 lead at the end of one. The competitive opening frame made it clear that neither team was going to give an inch.

As the second quarter unfolded, Schoolcraft began to settle into its rhythm on both ends of the floor. The Eagles tightened up defensively, forced tougher looks, and capitalized on key stops by turning defense into offense. That momentum allowed Schoolcraft to gradually create separation, extending its lead to 35–24 by halftime.

Coming out of the break, the Eagles showed poise and discipline, maintaining control throughout the second half. Schoolcraft dominated the glass, limiting Ovid-Elsie’s second-chance opportunities while consistently winning the battle for rebounds. On the offensive end, the Eagles did an excellent job protecting the basketball and working for quality shots, forcing Ovid-Elsie to defend deep into the shot clock. That control of possessions proved to be the difference down the stretch. Each time Ovid-Elsie looked to build momentum, Schoolcraft answered with a timely basket, a defensive stop, or a strong rebound. With multiple Eagles stepping up on both ends of the floor, the team effort never wavered, allowing Schoolcraft to close out the game and secure a much-needed bounce-back victory.

The moment of the night came late in the fourth quarter when Ty Goddard knocked down a contested three-pointer and drew a foul on the shot, setting up a potential four-point play. It’s a situation Goddard has been in before, but each time it happens his energy ignites the gym. You could feel the momentum shift instantly as the crowd and bench fed off the moment like wildfire.

Player of the Game #11 Bryce Lambe (Schoolcraft) Bryce Lambe is the kind of player any coach would be beyond lucky to have. He brings elite basketball IQ, makes smart decisions, and most importantly plays unselfishly with the goal of putting his teammates in the best position to succeed. In this one, however, we saw another side of Lambe. When the Eagles needed big plays, he delivered. Between his pinpoint passes to Jimmy Miller, Kodee Bienz, and Ty Goddard, along with his relentless scoring ability in the paint, Lambe controlled the tempo and made his presence felt on both ends of the floor. Performances like this deserve recognition, and it will be worth watching to see if this game serves as a turning point for Lambe as the season continues.
