VICKSBURG - Tuesday night delivered a must-see showdown as Schoolcraft head coach Derrick Small went head-to-head with his father, Vicksburg head coach Randy Small, in a rare and electric father-vs-son coaching battle. The atmosphere inside Vicksburg High School was nothing short of chaotic. The crowd was deafening, and the Bulldogs fed off every second of it.

Schoolcraft struck first, jumping out to a 7–0 lead in the opening minute as it looked like the Eagles were ready to seize control early. But the Bulldogs quickly snapped awake. Senior sharpshooter Mitch Beyer stepped into the spotlight and caught fire, burying three after three after three. His scoring surge flipped the momentum instantly, and by the end of the first quarter, Vicksburg had stormed ahead 17–12 a lead they would never surrender again. From there, Vicksburg controlled the game for long stretches. Schoolcraft kept clawing back, repeatedly trimming the deficit to a single point or tying it up, but every time the Eagles got close, the Bulldogs responded with another run, another big shot, another defensive stand.

Senior Mitch Beyer finished with a game-high 22 points, Sophomore Nathan Vallier added 15, and Junior Graham Kubiak poured in 13. Schoolcraft refused to fade quietly. Jimmy Miller was electric, dropping 30 points and keeping the Eagles within striking distance from start to finish. Ty Goddard added 10, and Kodee Bienz contributed 5, but the Eagles could never reclaim the lead once Vicksburg took control midway through the first quarter.

Vicksburg now turns its attention to Three Rivers, their conference rival, coming to town on Friday in what promises to be another packed house and intense matchup. Schoolcraft, meanwhile, turns its focus to Kalamazoo Hackett in what should be another competitive, high-energy battle. Final Vicksburg 66 Schoolcraft 56
