Arena Football Returns to Saginaw: Monsters Spoil Michigan Arsenal’s Home Debut
SAGINAW, MI - For the first time in over a decade, the lights of the Dow Event Center dimmed for arena football on Friday night. While the return of the sport brought a surge of energy to the community, the newly formed Michigan Arsenal (AF1) fell short in their inaugural home opener, dropping 45-25 to the Minnesota Monsters.

The Arsenal struggled to find their rhythm early in the contest. Minnesota capitalized on the slow start, surging to a dominant 29-0 lead in the first half. The momentum finally shifted when Michigan quarterback Malik Henry connected with Javari Flowers for a touchdown, the first Arsenal score in the history of the Dow Event Center.

Michigan managed to narrow the deficit to 16 points before the half, but the early hole proved too deep to climb out of against a disciplined Monsters squad.
