History didn’t just repeat itself in Kalamazoo — it cemented itself.
At the MHSAA Wrestling State Finals, the four titans of Michigan high school wrestling once again stood above the rest. Division by division, the result felt inevitable, yet no less impressive. Detroit Catholic Central, Lowell, Dundee, and Hudson each defended their thrones, reminding everyone why dynasties are built on consistency, culture, and an unrelenting standard.

Detroit Catholic Central continued to define excellence in Division 1. The Shamrocks captured their fourth straight state championship and 19th overall, overpowering Hartland 43–16 in a performance that was equal parts precision and dominance. DCC controlled the dual from start to finish, winning the matches they were supposed to win and extending the gap whenever Hartland looked for momentum. It was another reminder that the Shamrock machine doesn’t reload it just keeps rolling.

In Division 2, Lowell delivered perhaps the most flawless showing of the weekend. The Red Arrows claimed their 13th consecutive state title, a streak that now stretches back to 2012, dismantling Eaton Rapids 62–4. There were no wasted possessions, no mental lapses, no openings given. Lowell wrestled with zero errors, executing at a level that made a state final look like a routine dual.. which at this point it is.. Division 3 belonged, once again, to Dundee. The Vikings earned their ninth straight championship and 18th overall, closing in on Detroit Catholic Central for the most titles in state history. Against a gritty and battle-tested Yale squad, Dundee imposed its will early and never let up, cruising to a 60–6 victory. It was dominance rooted in depth, discipline, and a program that knows exactly who it is when the lights are brightest.

in Division 4, Hudson kept its dynasty alive. The Tigers secured their fifth straight state championship, but the night carried even more historical weight. Head coach Coach Marry etched his name deeper into the record books, surpassing the all-time dual meet wins record with 983 career victories, breaking the previous mark of 981.

Another title, another milestone, another chapter in one of the most remarkable coaching careers the state has ever seen. Four divisions. Four champions. The same outcome for the fourth straight year.

Three things remain unavoidable in life: death, taxes, and Dundee, DCC, Lowell, and Hudson winning a state wrestling title.
